Project 832

Refurbishment of a Grade II* Medieval hall house in Somerset. Prior to the works the property had been unoccupied for many years and much of the building was in a state of disrepair. Constructive working relationships with the local Conservation Officers and the English Heritage team enabled the Clients to utilise all the areas of the building, through new connections at ground and first floors, and the installation of a new curved timber staircase. New services, significant roof repairs and re-thatching, as well as extensive structural repair works were also carried out throughout. The project was the recipient of a William Stansell Award from the Somerset Building Preservation Trust, to recognise exceptional quality in the conservation and repair of historic buildings.
